I get to do this at the CT and it is just like the picture. Why are people so nasty on the internet?

Equality Myth: The Beauty Advantage: How Beauty Can Affect Your Job, Your Career, Your Life

God we love this photo, despite the weird overly buff dude. Wanted to send out a link to Newsweek’s massive package on the role of looks at work, which includes pieces on: the double bind that women face, what would happen if women ruled the world, why women should shun that

“The court ruled against the Christian Legal Society and upheld the right of a state university to withhold funding and official recognition from a student group that denied membership or leadership positions to students based on religion and sexual orientation.

I was not the only one pleased with this decision.”

I have been learning so much during my time at the Chicago Tribune and I will be sad to go. Today, I learned how to work in TypePad and helped update the Blagojevich blog, which was also the main story on the front page for most of the day.

I’ve still been working on my other main project but I’m not ready to write about it just yet. It is a much larger, more time consuming venture and I think would be presented best when it is finished.

Annie and I went to Sunda in downtown Chicago tonight. The food was delicious and the place was packed. There must have been 300 people there. If you go - go on a weekday. Saturday is too busy for quiet conversation.

Ava was checking out an apartment in Boystown, Chicago today and asked if I would tag along. I had visited the neighborhood the first time I came to Chicago but that was three years ago. We had lunch at Halsted’s Bar and Grill. They have a wonderful brunch menu with twelve different ways to make a Bloody Mary. Since it is my favorite drink it was hard to resist. Writing columns, especially ones for publication, after drinking is a dangerous game. I highly recommend dining at Halsted’s if you are in the area.

Follow the Chicago Tribune on Facebook. Or, like it. Whatever the correct term is - do it. There are two reasons to do so. The first is that using Facebook (and sites like it) to catch up on the news is a great way to get a lot of information without having to actually go look for it yourself.

The second reason you should follow the Chicago Tribune is that I am not helping manage the page, which means if I make a spelling error or a ridiculous comment I’ll be tarnishing the paper’s good name. You can’t let that happen!
