For what it’s worth, it looks like the Wall Street Journal had the story cold, like way before the Times. The latter had a blog post up rehashing the resignation letter while the Journal had a board member comment and much more. A whole article. By about 15 minutes. Just goes to show which paper Apple wanted to break the news with, we guess.

Who is Tim Cook? Steve Jobs’ hand-picked successor has been described as an intensely private workalohic, a fitness nut, and a taskmaster. He prides himself on being first man in the office in the morning and the last one out at night.

I wish him the best, I really do. I just think he and Microsoft are a bit narrow. He’d be a broader guy if he had dropped acid once or gone off to an ashram when he was younger.
