A constitutional amendment facing voters in Mississippi on Nov. 8, and similar initiatives brewing in half a dozen other states including Florida and Ohio, would declare a fertilized human egg to be a legal person, effectively branding abortion and some forms of birth control as murder.
How about instead of giving money to politicians that want to make abortions illegal, those people supported the party that wants to help others through societal programs (eduction, fair housing, job programs).
This would have a greater impact.
More women would have reasons, activities and plans for their futures - all of these things prevent an unwanted pregnancy.
You know the fastest way to keep a woman from an unwanted pregnancy? Education. Ask anyone who has taken a sociology class.
So, instead of cutting government programs and spending your savings on anti-abortion programs invest the money in the future of a woman. She’ll be too excited about her life that she won’t make the mistake of getting pregnant when she doesn’t want to have a baby. And then, we can have what constantly polls the highest in abortion surveys, a system in place for emergencies like rape.
